Yercaud - 'Poor man's Ooty'

The first thing that attracts a visitor is teh lake caled Emerald Lake. The Yercaud Lake, a picturesque pool surrounded by gardens and trees, is one of the main attractions of Yercaud. You can enjoy boating at the Yercaud Lake. If you like to paddle the boat yourself then the paddling boats are a good option otherwise you also have the option of the boatman rowing it for you as you relax in the calm waters of the Lake. The garden surrounding the lake is well groomed and best seen during the month of May when the Summer Festival is organised. Boating in the cold water of the lake is enchanting as well as refreshing.

National Orchidarium with India's third largest orchid house, 300 ft high Killiyur waterfalls, the Servaroyan temple atop the Servaroyan hill and the Small Lake famous for being fed by seven wells are some other highlights of the city.

Yercaud boast of a beautiful Yeracud Lake, which is surrounded by absolute greenery and wild woods. You can enjoy the pleasure of boating at the lake. One can avail the boating facilities available here. Boats come in two options. Paddling ones for a couple or four and the other type where there is a guy rowing it for you as you relax.

The lake is surrounded by a Deer Park, a leisure park and a number of hotels in the vicinity. The Deer park has a few population of deer and peacocks and is a suitable playground for kids. It will be closed by 5.00 p.m.
